3 Workshops to Bring Gardening into Your Classroom
Join us for a fun Day-Long Workshop Series for teachers
outside at Brooklyn’s largest school farm!

Early Childhood, Middle and High School Teachers Welcome!
You will rotate through three workshops and learn some basics:

Starting and Growing Seeds Indoors
Building and Maintaining an Indoor Worm Bin
Planning for Your School Garden

Schedule for the Day:

Breakfast and Introductions: 9 am to 9:30 am
Workshops 1 & 2: 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
Lunch: 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm
Workshop 3: 1:30 pm to 3 pm
Closing Circle: 3 pm to 3:30 pm

All 3 workshops will be tailored to your grade level, taught to you by a farming/gardening expert trained in popular education. Every teacher will leave with an indoor seed starting kit, worm bin kit, and tools and resources to start a garden project at their school!

We are excited to train you in 3 fun, basic gardening skills:
Starting seeds, composting (and indoor worm bin maintenance), and school garden-planning! Elementary, Middle and High School teachers will rotate through our three workshops separately with one of our expert staff, with the lessons tailored to your grade level and common core standards.

We’ve hosted and taught hundreds of students from around NYC of all learning levels, and have watched them explode with curiosity and excitement when interacting with their living environment! These activities will support learning in areas of basic math, scientific observation, botany and photosynthesis, simple biological organisms, waste reduction and more!
